Storm Louis quickly left Tervuren moving northwards to batter the Dutch. For the day after the storm, the KMI or Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium still noted southwest winds increasing with gusts of up to 60 or 70 km/h on the morning of 23 February.

Tervuren’s park and Vlaktedreef, going to Jezus-Eik from Tervuren, were closed by order of the mayor Marc Charlier from 6:30 p.m. The locations only reopened on the morning of 23 February after workmen were ordered out, checking for fallen trees and branches.

Tervurenaars had to show extreme care when traveling home and stay clear of the forests. The KMI had warned of strong gusts between 80 to 110 km/h.

One reader reported a fallen tree on Moorselstraat cutting off Moorsel from Vossem and Tervuren. The street was quickly and expertly cleared by town workers.
